How to Set Timezone in Unix FreeBSD

Learn how to set your local Timezone in Unix FreeBSD server. It’s important to sync the correct time on your server. The step by step instruction below are showing you via command line (CLI)

1. cd /usr/share/zoneinfo
2. ln -s Asia/Hong_Kong /etc/localtime

Step 1: Change directory to zoneinfo
Step 2: Perform symlink to Country zone (in this example is Hong Kong) to /etc/localtime

After the timezone has been set, now make the local time sync with time server
1. ntpdate
